Default lojack...dealer didnt install....maybe

so when i first went to get my s2k from the dealership they offered me the lojack. ive heard how good it was so i got it. so now i want to register it on lojacks website but it asks me for a serial number. my question is what does the lojack look like? i cant seem to find it anywhere, especially if i dont know what it looks like..would the dealership say they "installed" the lojack but really didnt do it?

Ask your dealer to get the number. I don't think they are going to tell you where it is.

low jack is supposed to be installed in different locations all the time. Ur not "supposed" to be able to find it now if the dealer installed it and not and independed installer, look under the dash cause the dealer just zip ties everything there..

The dealership should be able to give you the number if they put it in, or had it put in. I would go to them.

I am a Honda Dealer in the NorthEast, and outhere LoJack does their own installs. You will not be able to find your lowjack box unless you rip your car apart and I will not announce to the world where it's usually mounted. Contact the dealership and tell them what happened when you called LoJack, if they tell you they "forgot" to install it, they PROBABLY tried to get one over on you and you certainly can sue them. If they failed the report to LoJack that they had it put it it's probably an honest mistake.

yeah that sounds kinda fishy, get it checked out. $600 is a lot of money and they should have put it in the car

heres an update!

called the dealership...got directed to the service guys and they said they will install it. the service guys said it was wierd that the sales guy told me it already had it installed.

it would have been even worse if they stole my car and i called 911 and told them i had lojack, when in reality i didnt have it cause the dealer didnt install it when i bought it but only charged me....

Strange.

It really does sound like the sales dept was trying to pull a fast one on you.

When you are in the dealer waiting for them to install the Lojack, you should have a conversation with the GM. If you are going to do this I would set up an apt. prior.
