This holder is cheap, swivels and works with an iPhone 4. I unscrewed the suction cup part and attached it to a Modify dash mount plate with double sided tape.

I just bought that Modifry mount. I was about to buy that Arkon Iphone mount but saw it was only for the 3g and 2g Iphones. Does anyone know if there is one for the Iphone 4 that would work with that modifry bracket to put it in the same location as the one pictured above?

I'll look around real quick.

edit - just called akron, they are looking and are going to email me with what you need.

Ok awesome. Thanks for the help man! So what you linked is not what I should be getting? Those 2 items shown in the cart.

That looks pretty cool. Don't think I want to mount it with the double sided tape though. Definitely want something I can bolt together.

The 2 items in the cart are what you need to make an iPhone 4 connect to the modifry/ Panavise bracket

I am leaning towards one of those two Alpines mentioned. The 105 or the 305. For either one do I need to buy an additional harness or anything for the install? Or should they come with the necessary wiring?

Ordered up those parts from Arkon! Thanks again!

youll need to either cut into the oem radio harness, or buy an adapter harness, i recommend an adapter harness. you can pick one up from a local car stereo shop or best buy.

the adapter will plug into the OEM harness on one side and have a bunch of loose wires on the other. your HU will have a wire harness that plugs into the HU on one side, and has a bunch of loose wires on the other, then all you have to do is connect the loose wires. the adapter that you buy and the alpine adapter that comes with the HU will have color codes, but they might be different from each other, so read them and connect them correctly. (i.e. alpines purple wire might be a front left speaker, but the harness' front left speaker might be a yellow wire)

another thing in case you havent read into the 305s, it DOES NOT have a CD player. i dont have any CDs so i dont care. the integration with the iphone is awesome, and the fact that the head unit was built for the use of pandora is great, you can rate songs right on the head unit. with MP3, radio, pandora, and ability for satellite radio, i dont see the need to clutter my car with CDs.

ok sweet. Thanks for the info! I have an Eclipse head unit in my car currently. Would I need a different harness for the install of say an Alpine unit? Or could I just reuse that harness I already have?
Ah didn't notice that about the cd player. I don't use cd's most of the time but do occasionally so that could be an issue. Maybe I will look at the 105 then.
