Looking for the right amp to power the following
Looking for suggestions on an amp to handle the following upcoming system:
- Alpine 9815 headunit
- Boston Acc. ProSeries 6.5" components in doors
- Kicker L7 8" sub in trunk (in a Wlaurent enclosure of course)
I originally was shooting for a JL Audio 300/4 amp, but was told the L7 needs a minimum of 150W and the doors will need 100W each. Also keep in mind that if the single L7 sub isn't enough, I will add another.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
BTW - I am a relatively new board member. Bought my 2002 Sebring Silver S2k 2 weeks ago.

I'd recommend something along the lines of an Alpine MRV-540 if you are going to have a set of components and a sub...
blahlo
My config running on a 5 channel MRV-450 (NOT MRV-540):
MB Quart RSB-218 front components
MB Quart RKC-113 rear coaxials
Kicker 8" L7D2 on driver's side.
I used to have Bostons, but I blew out the fronts, so I busted out the RSBs that I had from a few years ago that I was planning to sell and they COMPLETELY blow away the Boston's. The RKC-113 are actually sitting in the box still, waiting for my Lucid rear panels. The sound is incredible even w/o the rears installed, but I just want some extra fill for when the top is down. My 5 channel alpine powers everything VERY nicely. My other choice was the Kenwood 5 channel, but this was a little bit less and I would have had to wait a little longer so whatever, the Alpine is more than good enough.

Thanks for the reply. I've decided to go with the JL 500/5 amp. This way my front BA components are getting 100W each and my sub will get 250W. And when I get my lucid rears, they'll get 25W each.
Seems pretty balanced....we'll see what happens.
