after sitting in my friends 350z with 2 10w6v2s, i've decided that stock is not good enough for me. I wanna start off by upgrading the headunit and getting a sub/amp in.
I would like to stick with a alpine headunit.
As for the sub, I have a 10w3v2 in my garage, but I'm thinking this is not enough for me, so I'm looking at a 10w6v2.
What amp would you guys reccommend me going with? What would be ideal to push the sub and the door speakers when I do upgrade them?
The reason I plan to upgrade the door speakers last is because they seem to sound pretty good for oem speakers and a new head unit would probably make them sound even better
jl 500/1 is what many use for this sub. You might want to talk to Darknight about getting an alphasonik amp that a lot of the members use and are very happy with(he can get you a deal).
Other than that....basically be looking for an amp that can put out around 350-450 watts. You dont want to push a w6 with more than 500, but if you want the most out of it you need to probably give it around 400.

Personally, I will be running mine with a alpine mrp-m650 and just turning the amp down a bit.
I WOULDNT RUN A W6 AT ALL IN OUR LITTLE CARS..u really wouldnt be puttin the sub in the correct air space if u use the w6...
if i was u..keep the w3v2 and get a darknight sub box..orrrr..just get a w3v3..which sound a lil better and can handle a bit more..
ull bee surpized at waht this sub can doo in our lil cars...if u lived in ny..i would be glad to show u my set up...
save a lil moneyy! and get interior speakers..bc..stock sucks..
dont cheap out on coxals...get seperates(componets)_thats the only way!!
i have a w6 12" sittin in my basement..idk what the hell too doo with it!
If you want to stay with JL Audio, go with either the 300/4 or the 450/4. I have the 450/4 with a 10w6 and Polk Audio SR6500's and it friggin rocks the car...
My system:
HowS2kru, why wouldnt you use a 10w6 in the car? Both subs require .625ft3 of airspace. There is MORE than enough room for this sub, wouldnt recommend a 12w6 but the 10 is just fine.
I plan on buying a JL Audio 450/4 to run the JL Audio stealth box and a pair of Focal Audio 6.5 components. How do you think that will perform and sound?? I have used JL Audio and Rockford Fosgate in every system that i have had so i think it will sound good. What is your opinion?
