hey folks,

longtime listener, first time caller. basically i'm looking for a decent video camera to mount in my car to record some runs to the mountains and such. i don't need anything HD or super expensive. anybody have any suggestions, or experience with a product that you really like?

sorry about the double post. site gave me some error messages and i didn't think it was posting!

 

I just have an old Sony camcorder with a wide angle lens attached and mounted where the windscreen goes. Doing this allows me to get apiller to apiller and top of the windshield all the way down to the shifter.

I suggest getting a camcorder that supports an external mic so you do get sooo much wind noise and that it has very good image stabilization. To me... it was a very nice bonus to be able to record in 16:9 and have LANC.

BTW, I am selling one of my mounts that would be great for small and heavy cameras. It is basically this one but in black to match the interior of the car.
