Default MB Quart 6.6 or 5.25 inch speakers

I just bought MB Quart Q series 6.5's and i returned them to get the 5.25 becuase the installer said they dont clear the side windows. I think the stock speakers are 5.25 right? So these will fit but would the 6.5 have fit also?

The 6.5"s work great in my car. There is no clearance problem whatsoever. Installers say that fairly frequently about Honda's OEM mounts. Try to move to a better installer if you can.

You need to get a mounting kit like the one sold by lucid.

The MB Quarts are clean sounding, but the highs can be too harsh. And no bass response.

If you can, try to get Focal or Dynaudio. Give a listen and you'll see why.

LOL!

I agree, I love MB Quarts and have used them in all my previous systems. For the first time, I'm venturing away from MB Quart and going with Focals.

Many complain of the tweeters being too sharp, but that's what I like, and MB Quart reproduces highs very well. There are many people on the board that don't like MB Quart, but I still give them a

As for size, the 6.5" MB Quarts (premium series) wouldn't fit without major modifications in my ITR, so I used the 5.25" and I was completely satisfied. They fit in the stock location easily and sounded great.

Now that I have the S2K, I'm doing 6.5" Focals and additional tweeters to give me the highs I so crave from having MB Quarts for the past 5-6 years.

Although I usually dont purchase them...actually never....the MBQUARTS QSDs are some of the best speakers you can get. The only drawback they have is the price. For 600 bucks, I can have 3 pairs of perfects, that would be a lot better than 1 pair of Q's . But they are indeed very well engineered and top quality. I however, think the lower line MBQuarts are a waste of money.

I got mine on a model end closeout for $199, which are the ones that are second from the top of the line. I think they are 213Qs.
