i have focals, and i love them, but i can't tell you why. *I* just like them, if you can make it to a group meet, many people have upgraded systems and will let you audition them in their car.

I've heard nothing but great things concerning focals, what have you got powering them?

I have a pair of Focal Utopias in my S2000 and am also very happy with the sound.

Not sure whether I would put them in an S2000 if I had my time over though as it is a noisey car and $1100 AUD speakers might be overkill, but either way I did it and am very happy with the results.

BTW I'm feeding them 100w per channel which is adequate.

yeah that's much dough for speakers in a convertable.
What kind of amp do you have? If the Focals are that good I might put 'em in the van.

I have a Precision Power (PPI) amp. The 100w per channel that I was referring to above is RMS by the way.

Thank you all for your help. Funny, I was thinking about buying a Rx-8 before. Ppl here in S2Ki.com are much more helpful than the ppl in rx8club.com IMO. I use to own a MB Quart speakers in my previouse car. And I also find it a little too sharp on the tweeter sometimes. I think i'm going Focal. Thanks!

Don't get me wrong. I love the rotary engine, and know the rx-7 might be coming out next year. But, there is so much doubt about the renesis engine still, since is new. Problems such as gas mileage, flooding, heating...etc. Not enough problem to make the rx8 a bad car. Since there is still so much good things about rx8 such as the handling, extra 2 seats, sexy interior, distinctive design, carzoomer's 50hp etc. But, I'm the kinda guy that rather get a car that's problem free, and don't have to worry about anything. Hope the rx7 come out problem free though! I'm pretty sure mazda would fix most of the problem on the rx8, next year anyways!
