Memphis or PPI amplifier?
I apologize for another one of these "which should I get?" threads, but please bear with me since I have no experience with car audio. I purchased the CDT Classics (90W RMS) and a tiny 8" 4ohm SVC sub (200W RMS). I'm now looking for an amp to do the job. The 2 amps I have in mind are the following:
Memphis 16-MC3004 4x75W 4ohm, 2x230W bridged - $325 from a local audio shop
or
PPI PCX-480 4x80W 4ohm, 2x320W bridged - $229 from ikesound (I assume they're being discontinued since I can't find any more info on the PPI website.)
I've heard positive reviews about the Memphis Belle, which is partly composed of the 16-MC3004. But then again, PPI also makes high quality amps. I probably can't go wrong either way, right? But I was just hoping to get some feedback on either amp. Thanks.

I have a PPI amp and I like it. I have never had any experience with Memphis amps so I can't comment. Here is PPI's site http://www.directed.com/coms.asp
I'm running the PPI PCX-2125. Last year's model so of course they finally look all cool after I bought one. It's a great amp, no complaints. Powers 125 watts RMS to my MB Quarts and sounds completely transparent at all volumes. Can't ask for anything more...
BTW: the Precision website is http://www.precisionpower.com/

$229 for the PPI is awesome. I paid about $300 a year ago for mine (the 480), and have not been disappointed.
The amp will easily install in place of the spare tire, and I've had no problems with overheating even in S. Florida weather.
