Missing one audio channel!
Well, my audio system just can't leave well enough alone. After persistent efforts from Modifry I finally get a superbly working DCI for my HU so things are good now?
Wrong! Today I notice my rear left channel doesn't work. I switched that channel's wires around to the other speaker and still no sound.
So now I have 3 perfect audio channels and need 4. Any advice? Is this a fixable problem or too costly to repair?
BTW, I don't blame the new DCI unit for this. I probably shorted that channel out when pulling out the HU.

so, let me get this straight....
you are using the HU's power. you were rewiring for the new DCI.
now, one channel does not work?
when you 'switched that channel's wires around to the other speaker' -- what exactly did it do? did the lack of sound move or stay where it was?
and where did you do the wire switching? at the speakers? at the harness/head unit?
and which speaker is this?
and how are your connections made? solder? crimps?
also -- did you check your connections for the 'bad channel' to make sure there were no lose connections?

if the connections were well crimped, how did you end up w/ exposed wiring to touch off on other wiring? nm. while that sounds accustatory, it isn't meant to be.
are there exposed portions of wire?
try jiggling and fiddling w/ the crimped connectors to see if you get sound. also make sure that the plugs on all the adapters are firmly set.
so far, this doesn't sound good.

hrm.... no exposed wires on the exterior? no improvement when fiddle and jiggling? good fit?
it's not looking good. how old is this HU? do you even have a wiff of warranty on it?
generally, in my experience, repairs for these kinds of HU's start w/ a $120 flat fee that goes up as you add in parts and other labor.
