Default Modified stock tweeter pod (MY2002) for better imaging

I wonder if anyone else has done this? I've tried this on the left (driver's side) side tweeter and it sounds much better. The other one is much different and will take a little more effort. Basically, I cut the stock plastic pod (or whatever else it is called?) so that it's now directed towards the passenger seat rather than straight towards the other tweeter. Sounds way better. I'll do the other one soon and can take pictures if anyone is interested.

Yes = please post some pics.

Did you use the stock tweeter or install an aftermarket?

the biggest difference i found with the cadence speakers i just installed was the tremendous upgrade to the tweeter. The oem tweet is a pathetic little thing that would be more appropriate in a $39.95 boom box than a $33,000 car! Now i hear the hi's big time. I think any quality tweets will bring a huge difference to the soundstage.

I did not have the stocks, I had the Focals in there and yes they were much better than stock. Still, I wasn't happy that's why I did what I did. All I can tell you is that it makes a huge difference!

Unfortunately, I crashed my car last Saturday so won't be able to take pictures unless it can be fixed and I get it back. Chances are it's a total loss. No one was injured.

I finally have a pic:

This was taken before the final finishing so you can see the marks where I cut the pod. You really cannot see from this angle but if you sit in your car and look at the tweeter from the same angle you'd notice the difference. Anyone has a picture from a similar angle that can be used for a comparison?

Basically the driver's side tweeter now points at the passenger seat and the passenger side tweeter points at the drivers seat. In their stock form both tweeters fire at each other!

I also cut out the stock grill cause it's too thick and screws up the sound.

I'm much happier now

I did not modify the tweeter pods - rather I installed the tweeter swivel buckets into the OEM pods so you can adjust them as desired.

But - here is your comparison shot. Almost to scale even. It does show how yours angles back clearly.

That's a good shot and nice install!

What size tweeter is that? Did the swivel bucket come with the tweeter or you got it somewhere else? Also, is the tweeter angled as far back or it's possible to more it further?

ITs a 0.75" Silk Dome Tweeter. The component kit came with surface mount and wedge mount housings and a swivel/flush mount bucket.

The flush/swivel mount bracket requires a 1.75" diameter hole.

The tweeter can be angled back further if desired.
