Default Modifry DCI, SCV, and beeping

I'm on the verge of upgrading my S2000 audio and want to get a HU with a Modifry DCI, not least of all to have SCV. I've read in the threads that some HUs will beep when SCV is changing volume, and some of these can turn the beeping off. I've looked around, but I haven't seen anywhere a list of which are problematical in this way and which aren't.

Generally I'm inclined towards Alpine and Pioneer units capable of supporting a wired DCI, but am still open minded about other possibilities.

Can anyone who has dealt with this issue tell me which HUs to avoid if I want to use SCV? Thanks!

I have the Alpine 9857 with the Modifry DCI II. I love it.

The Alpine allows you to turn off the beep.

Agree, Best Damn Deck for your car!! Has lots of new features with the DCI. Only thing wrong with the deck is there is no color option. Cool feature is no beep with SVC.

Thanks for the quick replies. Anyone know whether any of the higher-end, wired-remote Pioneer models (980BT, P880PRS, etc.) can be de-beeped? Or can confirm that they absolutely cannot?

Sort of related question: I'm looking at the Alpine 9857 (of course), and it looks like the 9861 SHOULD fit, but Crutchfield thinks it won't (maybe just because they haven't done one themselves on S2K). The latter appeals because it has higher power pre-outs (giving me more amp options). Comments?

My Alpine 9833 allows the beep to be turned off. You can go to the Pioneer web site and look at the manuals for those units. I know, that will take quite a while to weed through all the crap in the manual.

I did a number of keyword searches on a couple of the Alpine manuals and couldn't find where there are instructions on turning off the beeps. What are they officially called (the beeps)? Can you point me to a page in one of the head unit manuals where this is mentioned?

I talked with one guy today who has sold Alpines for a long time and he had never encountered the problem before (thus he didn't know how to solve it).

Thanks!
