Thumbs up Best way to run wires to trunk

Ok I read the FAQ + searched and there seems no definitive position on this.

I need to run the 4ga power from battery to the amp in the spare tire and the RCA's from the head unit.

Is this the correct setup:
1. Split at + on battery (fused) and run across firewall in engine bay to driver side wire hole.
2. Run power on driver side all the way to the back and across the gas tank area to spare tire area.
3. Run RCA's through middle console to the spare tire area.

Is that correct? Any opinions? Is it better to run the RCA's on the passenger side?

Thanks!

I ran my power wire from the battery through a fuse block that i attached on the firewall. Then i ran the wire through the rubber grommet next to the battery and ran the wire inside the plastic housing (right underneath the windshield wipers) so that its hidden instead of hanging about through the firewall. I then ran the wire through the other rubber grommet next to the brake/clutch master cylinder to the cabin. From there, I ran the wire to the trunk under the driver's side door sill.

For the RCA, speaker cables, and IPOD cable, I ran it straight through the center console.

The general idea is that there are already power wires running down
the left side of the car, so you don't want to run your RCAs/speaker wires
there (though some apparently have successfully).
If you're using the center console for RCAs and speakers, you might as
well use the right side sill for power (shortest, easiest run), but if you're
going to use the right sill for signals, use the left for power wire. Or
you can get really wild and crazy and separate power, RCAs, and speaker
wires into three different places!
FWIW, I ran 2 RCAs (one 4-channel + one 2-channel) and 2 twisted pair
speaker wires through the center console, and my power down the right
side.

i was gonna put a system in my s2k, and when i was doing it was stupid, the power wire would not go through that black hole shit in the firewall it was pointelss, i cudnt get the speaer wire thru to the doors, the radio wouldnt go aall the way in cuz of the rcas, and everytihng back there, so i had jsut sold everytihng i had, it came out of my rsx anyway and i aws just gonna move it to the s2k, but all teh problems i ran across, (ive isntalled 9 systems and the s2k was prolly the hardest to do ever, rsx was the easiest followed by an integra) i said the hell with tit and sold all my shit. jsut kept the radio and speakers for the doors thats it

Exactly as you stated except for #3 where I found it easier to run the RCA's down the right side. Of course, I had both seats out and was installing an iPod controller under the passenger seat anyway.

Not sure what the last post is trying to say, I ran 0 gauge from the battery to the back through the driver's firewall gromet. Just take an exacto and carefully pierce it a little. You can use a little wire lube too if necessary. I also have a aem gauge wire and a power lead for the S/C coolant pump running through it as well. It's plenty big.
