Programmin/install is not that hard, and you'll only have to put up with it once during the install. I think for less than half the price, you can't deny it's value.

Modifry was specifically developed for the s2000 by an electrical engineer who owns an s2000. It is superior in every measurable category. It isn't made in china, it isn't laggy (waiting 3 seconds for every function drives me insane) and it's plug and play. Don't want to spend $90? Get the PAC and live with the downsides. Want the best? Get the DCi.

Get it if you want it. You've been advised regarding its downsides and plenty of former threads would have told you the same thing. It's your call if you want to ignore the advice that you asked for. For me, value != programming issues and lag. Obviously, YMMV.

I mean, I could also buy a lot of cars for half (or less) of what I paid for my S. Does that make them a value? Not IMO.

I own the PAC for 2days, the worst 2 days of my life. Buy the DCI. DCI has a few more features, SVC, mute, works instantly.

I thought I would kill myself for installing a headunit and loosing my dash controls...but after the second day of not having them its perfectly ok. If your not going to spend the 90 on the modifry, I would just do without the pac....waste of money.

lolz because of this thread... my friend decided to buy a new $300 HU and the new "PAC" and install it into his car... it lasted 2 days and he had to get a new module... pending new part... 1st one stopped working... thats what happens when you go cheap.

it was a bitch to hide though...

Modifry you can easily tuck the chip under the deck, PAC you have to move the module to the knee panel on the passenger side.

that enough for you?

Good grief! You'd think I paid you guys to push my products. Thanks for all the good feeedback.

I need to spend more time here and get to know you guys again. I've been awol for the last couple years so I'll make a New Year's resolution to stop by a couple times a week. Well, at least once a week, don't want to over-commit.

Here's what I think is an honest comparison between the two products, though on this page I did not mention the lag issue that others talked about.

One more note - even though my "official warranty" is 1 year, it's pretty rare for me to charge to repair a DCI no matter how old it is. Overall I get so few returns that the only time I charge is if it's been physically damaged or a wiring error has fried something. And I've never charged more than $30 to fix one, and that includes return shipping.

Again, feel free to buy it and report back if you want. I'd suggest buying from a place with a good return policy though.

Where are you getting the "new model" info from? Their SWI line hasn't changed in quite some time.
