Default Molded A-Pillar and Dash

I have browsed the stereo install pics and they all seem to be mostly of the trunks. I would like to see if anyone has any install pics which involve molding in the A-Pillar or the dash (besides cutting the dash for Nav). Darkknight1999 looks to be the resident expert in this area; could you post some pics of the interior of your car where you have done any molding. I am not looking for anything specific just would like to see what could be done (Ipods, garmin nav, etc. ) Thanks.

Depending on what you plan on molding will decide if it will work in a particular location. I molded my screen into upper window molding replacing the rearview mirror. You could mold a GPS/Nav unit up there no problem. You could mount it where I mount my V-tec controller. Anyway here are few pictures of my work:

Looks great! Thanks for posting the pics. This gives me an ideas of what can be done with molding. If anyone else has any pics they would be greatly appreciated.

Darkknight1999 does your rear camera come on when you put the car in reverse and if it does would it be possible to install a switch near the shift knob to manually switch on the rear camera so that it would be possible to see what is behind the car while it is moving. That seems to be a best of both world solution with the Nav, DVD player being in that location and still being able to use the back up camera while in motion. Thanks in advance for you input.

My back camera is always on. I have a hidden switch to change it to the playstation. But you can have it setup to switch between the Navi and the camera. The setup I have is setup with a momentary switch so I can just hit it and switch between whatever is hooked up. I think it can switch between 4 different things maybe 5.

when you put in your rear camera did you look into distance sensors like the BMW's have? those that light up to show how close you are graphically not just "faster beeping"

With the camera you won't need them. You can see everything. I have a wide angle lens so I can see 180` plus I just don't need them.

what about at night, is the display affected in any way at night by the headlights of a car behind you? also could it damage the display or even the camera?
