Default More volume out of speakers?

Hey guys,

I currently have Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1s, powered by an Alpine MRV-T420 amp. The amp is putting out 75x2 @ 4 ohms to the Kappas.

I've gotten clean sound when the volume is up all the way(35) on my 9831. My question is, how would i get the same volume level as 35 lets say at like 26 or 27?

I basically want more volume without having to turn up the deck all the way.

Bigger amp?

I wanna add a sub too, so i'm thinking of getting a 4 channel amp and bridging 2 channels. Any recommendations to help me achieve my objective?

Thanks.

Sounds like you just want a bigger amp. I'm running an Alpine CDA-9831, Infinity Kappa 6.1's, and an Audiobahn amp rated at 100WRMS x 2 @ 4Ohms. I'm just not runnin a sub. Brand you go with is up to you but I would go bigger, especially if you get that sub.

Yawp.

Louder is done through more power (add an amp) or more speaker surface area (add more speakers)

so will 100w to each channel make a significant difference?

Dunno, I've never run less so I don't know how yours sounds, but I really like how mine sounds. If you want a big difference go 125WRMS in each channel since your buying a new amp anyway.

Well. I can't imagine 100w per front not being "enough" but it won't be a significant difference from 75w.

Remember, sound pressure levels are exponential so the 33% increase in power would net an increase in loudness of 10*(log(1.33)) = 1.2 dB

...and 3 dB is the minimum difference your ears can discern...so...

Have you set the gains on the amp properly?

Sounds like you might want to raise the gains (or adjust them properly) before buying a new amp.
