Default Mp3 Computer

Has anyone mounted a small computer in their trunk, and used it to play mp3's?

I have been using a overclocked, gooseneck mounted Toshiba Libretto 50CT for MP3's and GPS and will be mounting my new box very soon...

I just have to find a suitable display at this point.

Is the aim to have a computer in the trunk, or to have a HD full of MP3's in the trunk?

If it's the latter then the Neo is what you are after. The version I've got is the 'guinea pig' version. The latest version, the Neo Car Jukebox, is the 'thanks for finding all the bugs guys' version.

The aim is more to have a computer in the trunk for more than just mp3s like navigation, dvd etc, for cheaper.

I don't think a standard desktop will stand up against the S's tight suspension. I used to design rack systems for C17s. Same problems, the solution... a 400K design effort resulting in $15K computers (not including the guts). It can be done, but you will pay the price. It would be cheaper to do the shaner Alpine soultion with navigation and get a NEO player for your trunk. That would give you MP3, nav, and DVD with a much cleaner and cheaper installation.
