well, the appearance and stated materials for the tweeters were identical. and w/ the crossover points being the same and at the same slopes...

you could probaby just swap mid-bass'es and not be off much the worse. BUT, if i were you and they were going to swap the whole thing, i'd get the whole package.... more of a PITA, but also guaranteed design compatibility, and you get the newer model.

if i can find the db's in the coming days, i'll take the time to listen. i think i remember the EX's pretty well, so while not a side by side comparison, i should be able to at least give a reasonable review.

I put it in and played with it a little, but I didn't have time for a road test. So far it sounds pretty good, but I want to do more tweaking and tuneing on it, plus take it on the road.

I will probably be playing with it in the evenings this week.
