I can speak for the Alphasonik PSW608 as I just put mine in last weekend, and I LOVE it. For an 8in, its really strong. It fills out the sound very nicely, I like alt. too, and it is a vast improvement over no sub. You can here it well even with the top down going 70 on the highway, and feel it thump, but its crisp and accurate and not overbearing.
I see you're planning on using a JL 250/1, I'd recommend sending it 300W, I'm currently sending mine 320 W bridged from a PG Tantrum, and the amp still tends to get pretty hot after driving for relatively short trips.
I can't speak for any of the other components, but I think I'm one of the few who has the PSW608, and I absolutely love it.
Rear speakers do help fill the sound, but I don't have mine amped (I thought about it) but I'm very happy with them now, they complement my amp Infinity Perfects well. Good luck!

Just remember that the tool kit also sits in the well, so when you mount everything you set it up so that it can be removed, and stored in the passenger seat safely if you get a flat.
The tool well is for storing the flat tire, so make sure you don't have a subwoofer in there either, or have a good plan of action especially if you have a passenger. Re: Auto club membership w/ towing.

I just put Focal 165A (Access) components in the doors and a JL 8W3v2-D2 in a Wlaurnet enclosure in my 04. I'm using a four channel amp with the rear channels bridged to drive the sub (2 ohm voice coils in series.) It sounds very good and the components are more bright than warm giving good definition to the vocals even at freeway speeds. The sub isn't going to rattle the trunk to death but definitely gives a tight satisfying thump to the system. I don't see any need to add speakers behind the seats, as the sound stage seems just about right with only the fronts. The 8W3 JL sub has modest power handling abilities, which was good for me as my amp only does 140W bridged. The Focals, particularly the higher line models, could use more power than I'm giving them. So in the future I might get a more powerful amp. Anyway, its nice given the space available, to run a single 4 channel amp. So if you run an 4 channel amp that can use up the power handling of the Focals, you could also run a sub with a higher power range than the JL 8W3. Also, I was going to leave the spare but changed my mind during my install. The spare well offers a lot of room and removing the spare helps offset some of the weight gain from the additional audio equipment.

I thought about getting a four channle amp and bridging a pair for the sub, but don't know enough about it to figure out what amp to get.
Would something like this Audiobahn work?

The 600 series is a good sub (alphasonik), but the 800 is WELL worth the upgrade.
