I have 8 speakers(4 mid range and 4 tweeters) and a sub in my S It sounds really nice!

Well, not counting the sub you are only using 4 channels. I think your comment was just a little confusing to the new guy.

Running component speakers in the rears is a good thing, but it's not really what he's asking about.

Spods and speakers can be more than $300, rear speakers only will cost you as little as $50 for 5.25" pair, more if you buy high quality pair (if you cut the rear panels yourself, many had it done).
True, but once you hear the clarity of speakers in S-Pods vs speakers pointed into the seatbacks most people think it's worth spending a little more.

If on a budget, upgraded door speakers are always the first thing to do = most bang for your buck. Some will argue a new HU is next. I think it's a toss up between S-Pods & the HU, but no matter...you can always upgrade in stages as your budget allows.

For $1000 I would do door speakers, a new HU with a DCI, and and an amp. If you have some extra cash after that then make sure the amp is a 4-channel and do either a subwoofer or rear speakers. You will NOT have enough cash for two sets of rear speakers.
