Default My Proposed Stereo Setup, opinions, advice wanted.

Alpine head unit, not sure which one yet. From what I hear, this is the only head unit that will keep the dash controls working. All others require DJ Cube's or others custom dash work, correct?

Thinking about CDA9807 or CDA9811

JL Audio VR650CSi or XR650CSi components powered by a KICKER KX150.2, KX200.2, or KX300.2

Thats it for now, I wanna see how much mid-bass I get with this and then decide if I want subs from there. I would just like to know which components to go with and how much power (which amp) to put to them. Anybody have these components or amp? Or heard them? Am I going the right or wrong direction on this?

Thanks!

Your going in the right direction but you are going to need a sub!
Get a four channel amp, and add the sub later if money is an issue.

They'd sound fine in the stock locations...but I've heard better...Kicker makes quality amps. Only reason I didn't use them was for their massive size...

I'd go with the XR 650 CSI's. I have them and love them. The Lucid dash control works well with the Alpine units.

I have the Alpine 9815, JL 450/4 and the stealthbox sub. You really should get a sub if your adding all the other components.

Lucids controller also works great with certian Sony HUs. Look for something that lists the "rotory controller" as an option. It is an add-on controller from Sony. Lucid/Modifry use the port to map over to the dash controls. It adds more functionality over the stock controls and even adds speed sensitive volume (which is kinda cool.)

Not dissing alpine at all, just letting you know there are other options.

Everything sounds good, but shop around for speakers....the XR are good, but really overpriced. Just my $.02
