If you own a MY00 (as your profile says), then no. AP1's do not have a factory rear speaker harness.

I will check in my MY00 tomorrow....is there a male connector somewhere that is not connected? Based on the positioning, I would think it would be the sensor for the gas light.....but you would have noticed that by now.

I will check tomorrow.

It's an electrical connection for a hardtop installation.

There ya go. Is it for the defroster? (just curious)

Yeah, it's the defroster link up for the hardtop. But why do you have it? I thought 00 and 01 didn't plan for a hardtop so the wiring shouldn't even be there? But I just installed mine's a few days ago, so it's fresh in my mind.

Yes, but I believe it may also have to do with the soft top defeat circuit. So you can't operate the soft top when the HT is on.

actually i think the defroster defeat circuit is inside the rear catcher on the driver's side.

the MY00 was wired for the defroster, but you still have to install a switch and a specific relay in the fuse panel.

You mean the soft top defeat, right?

Yes, the actual switch is built into the left side catcher, but the wire from it has to plug into something. There is a "double pigtail" connector (one plug splitting into two) where the single plug plugs into what was posted above. One of the twins plugs into the window heater and the other plugs into the defeat switch.
