For the doors, yes you must remove the plastic and clean the surface before you apply the dynamat. Take your time since a good job definitely will reward you with better mid-bass response!
Funny as I will be tackling this project once again when I find my next s2000. This is really a MUST DO in my opinion to get the best sound quality.
