Radar Detectors/Laser Jammers
Any update on which detectors work the best? Been reading quite a few threads, and seems like it's between the V1, and a Passport (There were like two or three passport models). The threads are all like 3+ months old, didn't know if anything new was on the market.
Also, people were mentioning Laser Jammers. Anyone have any information about these?
Thanks in Advance.

IMO you're better off researching in a dedicated RD/jammer forum. I mean, do you rely on general car forums for info on the S?
Not a whole lot has changed recently. Escort did introduce the Redline which allegedly packs the sensitivity of the 9500ci in a windshield mount unit. I haven't seen much regarding real world testing but I haven't been closely following the Escort subforum as I'm not currently in the market to buy a RD.
If you can afford it (and proper installation) the 9500ci is awesome though its shifters aren't the best out there. That said, there are 9500ci owners who run with a V1 as well for the arrows.
Next class down are the top end windshield mounts which are still pretty much the 9500ix, V1 and I think some Bel model. There's a bit of subjective preference involved in selecting one. I suggest reading up to see if you can tell what sounds best for you and making most of the manufacturers' 30 day trial period (return and buy the other if you're not totally happy). The community will blindly parrot "V1 for highway, 9500ix for city" but you still need to see what your preferences are. I drive mostly in the city and use a V1, as an example. You might not be able to stand the V1 in city use. You might think that the chattiness of the V1 is worth putting up with due to the arrows. You might just prefer the various features of the 9500ix. Again, it's impossible to tell you what you will prefer.
As for jammers, Laser Interceptor is still the current king though Blinder is in the process of releasing a new model that looks good on paper (again, real world testing will tell). A proper install and testing is a must with these. Even the best jammer is worthless if it isn't properly installed.
Whatever you end up with be sure to read up on proper usage and technique. RD's and laser jammers are just tools. They don't replace your brain and they don't replace the need to be aware of your surroundings and situation. They aren't a magic cloak of invisibility nor is a RD a cop detector.

For a lazer jammer, the model and install are everything. I rape CHP lidar all day with my system, and the best part of how its hidden, they can never find it when they pull me over to look. Using a radar/lazer system takes some common sense to use and learn as well, they do not make you invisible or immune to the two. They are also not a get outta jail free system for doing triple digits and driving like a jack ass.
Im guilty of being a jack ass at times, but just gotta know when and where to do it, and make sure the fuzz doesnt see it.
