how do you like the sound of it? especially the Alpine speakers?

 

so right now I don't have the amps and sub's installed..hope to have this installed by end of next week. The alpines alone w/ the premier hu sound really good...I actually really don't need the amps and sub's but I'm compulsive

 

Should I switch out the Orions for a single JL? It's a bit more expensive but is it going to be that much more worth it?

 

seperate amps for each channel is the way to go if you are going audiophile. But with the headunit you have i wouldnt waste my time with orion or jl amps. Audison, Xtant, McIntosh Zapco etc are the brands you want to be looking at

 

Yesterday morning I placed another order and am going to refuse/return the orion/rockford

I also removed the door panel and found out the speakers I have are actually - the SPX - 177R Alpine speakers

I realize the HU is very nice, didn't realize it's at the McIntosh level. Certainly something I will consider, but for now I just need to get something in there cause the current speakers are underpowered and I'm afraid of them getting damaged.
