If you plan to have a system that you Pound all the time then dont use the cap.
If your going for SQ system that sweeps (high usage to lower detailed usage) then use it.

(i kept it simple this time)

OH and if you should look to upgrade your 'Big Three' (thats batt to chassis, batt to alt and alt to chassis wires). Car Audio install 101

Tricked,
Nice choices! That should be a way nice system. Give us a play by play on the wiring...

'cause I'm about to tackle mine as well.

Remember to run the power down one side and the RCA's down the other. I might run the RCA's and speaker wires down the center console, any objections, questions or comments?

Man, your gears are pretty good, except one: PLAT2000Ti, mine is pure Platinum PLAT2000 which is better than yours. J/K
Good luck to your install, and hope that all will be well.
Pictures at each step please, very please

Ruckus, "... upgrade your 'Big Three' (thats batt to chassis, batt to alt and alt to chassis wires)"
You're meant increase the wires to 0/1 GA for these connections ?

All I can say is cuts all over my hands
My thumbs feel as though I've been sandpapering my thumbs.
My knuckles are sore from being banged around
My palms are all greasy from...... Taking NFR's advice on greasing the power line.
I've broken a piece of the car
I've cut a wire running through the gromet in the firewall.
And I am forced to work with the top up because my alarm keeps going off when I reconnect the battery. Anyone know how to reset a factory alarm?
All in all it is going well, have taken some pictures, dynamatted the whole trunk and part of the spare tire area, got the seats out and the rear panels. I've been going strong since about 5pm. It's almost midnight, I can imagine that I will work through the whole bloody night.
And thanks to NFR Dave because he walked me through the whole thing. Until tomorrow, if I'm not dead!

Hrrm, in the Integra, I had the 2 JL Audio 12s w/ Punch 100 and w/o the cap, all the lights would dim when the bass would beat/hit. Adding the 1F Cap cured that. Cap made sure my car lights didn't beat with the bass.

So, for all, why would you NOT need a cap when your bass pounds, pulling all that current from the system battery so quickly?

What's the definition of determination: Cameron D starting to work on his alarm at around 5:30 pm. It is now 4:15 am and without any breaks, except to drink a protein shake at about midnight.
Update: I was literally stuck upside down with my head wedged between the steering column and the centre console. (don't worry my girl got a good pic of that one ) I don't have a stiffening capacitor in my possession. I could have swore that I ordered it. As for battery terminals, nada! The jack ass at Sound Domain (Or maybe I wasn't clear, who knows) Sent me three inline fuse holders and one blade fuse holder along with a 80 and 100 amp blade as well. The HU IS smaller than the factory deck and I certainly don't have a bracket on hand. Hopefully I can locate one at the stereo shop tomorrow and as for the pretty and fancy battery terminal connectors. Do I really need them or is ring terminals sufficient? I was recommended not to dynamat the doors because it would require removing the protective plastic covering so I didn't. I did though dynamat all of the bare metal around the basket and even on the inside of the door. I have never seen Infinity Perfect's before................ They are the Royalty of Speaker Components. I cut the baskets with a Dremel. Now that was actually fun until a piece of plastic lodged into my NIPPLE! Yes, you heard me correctly. So my advice to anyone using a Dremel to cut off the basket........Wear a long sleeve shit and a welder's mask! So the RCA's are run, the power wire is run, I don't have enough of the good stinger twisted 12awg wire handy. NFR Dave says I will need about 40 feet. No way in hell I have 40 feet. I have forty feet if I combine the regular 12awg with the twistedawg, but you are losing any benefit that you may/ or may not have had with the higher end twisted stuff. Dave suggest mounting them in the trunk, I wanted to do them in the doors, but his comment of possibly having water drip on to them scared me off. I found a spot that they will most likely fit. In the area where most cars have their glovebox. Well that little door comes off and is held on by six crazy clips that were a bitch to get off. I actually cracked off a piece of it in the process. Well anyways, in this "SECRET SPOT #???" (god you guys and your secret stuff) I believe that there is more than enough room to mount the x-over's and if I ever want to tweek them, just break another cover trying to pull the SOB off. Anyways, I'm showing because I smell like a (No one ever uses that smiley so I will) Almost 4:40 am and I am still giving you guys updates. Maybe I should become a commentator for midget wrestling, I hear they make great money!
What side do I run the remote on? AND HOW DO I RESET THAT DAMN ALARM?
P.S NFR DAVE how do I set up my Perfect for "Super Treble" because I am a treble head!
