Default My wipers click!

I just bought a MY01 with 60k miles. When my wipers are on the long interval setting, I hear a clicking noise (two quick clicks) every time they're about to move. The noise sounds like it comes from the left side of my dash. They don't do this on any other interval setting.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal?? Is my new-to-me s2k going to blow up the next time I turn on my wipers???!!!!

Thanks in advance.

best thread this week.

(it's perfectly normal - the relay that controls the interval wipers makes the sound. 02+ models relocated the relay in the engine compartment to eliminate this noise.)

i hate that noise...soo annoying...where exactly is the relay? is it possible to relocate it into the engine bay like the 02+ models?

Boyguan: You obviously didn't understand my original posting. The passing of time seems different to observers travelling at speeds relative to each other, as proven by Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity. Therefore, if you're puttering around town at 3k rpm, the interval setting is indeed slow for all observers. However, if you're vtec-ing in 6th gear, the interval between your wipers' movements will be shorter for a stationary observer on the side of the road (or for an observer in a slower car).

However, as long as you're in the driver's seat you'll only be able to select the one interval setting that comes with your car.

... Sorry if I wasn't clear in my first post.
