Default MY00 custom install pics/custom tweet location!

Alright I installed this a while ago, didnt want to take pics because I still have not made my amp rack yet. But I've been super busy with work and stuff on weekends I haven't had the time to whip up a amp rack for the spare tire slot so ignore my make shift 2x4 to keep the amp from sliding everywhere for now.

Originally I bought the car with a Sony deck in it and stock speakers. So needless to say that had to go. I added the following over a few weeks. All the work is done by myself and I have never done an install before. So lemme know how you think I did.

The new goodies:
Dynamat extreme (full cab and trunk)
Pioneer MVH-P8200BT head unit
Stinger wire
Audison SR-X 4 amp (bridged)
Hertz 165 components (custom install on the tweeters, note to anybody else... if your tweeter is bigger than 25mm, DO NOT PUT IN THIS LOCATION! Mine barely fit, and am quite lucky I didnt go with the 28mm tweeter)

Now for some pics:

teardown/dynamat/1" spacers on the door (dynamat was completed on the doors, ignore that big hole)

Headunit (color matched to dash)

Tweeter/Mic

Trunk/ghetto amp rack... dont judge me!

Future RCA cables ran, incase i want to add another amp/sub later, and future amp rack location.

And thats it for now... sorry for the iphone pics, i dropped my other camera in the lake while cliff jumping last weekend.... whoops!

Thoughts? comments welcome, good and bad.

Looks good, how much dynamat did you get to cover the cabin?

A couple of things... How do you like your hands-free microphone in that location? Does the caller have any trouble hearing you as opposed to a mounting location up by the sun visor? I really like how meticulous you were with the Dynamat install. But for an interior that looks soooo clean, are you planning on re-mounting your amp???

Will - the mic is fine in that location, callers say they can hear me perfectly, my exhaust sometimes takes over me, but oh well, who wants to talk on the phone when your driving anyways...

and yes im making and amp rack that with go where the spare tire used to be, and everything will be hidden and look like an empty trunk

exactly. Couple that with Sprint and no more talking on the phone while driving. I love it!

Judging by your pictures, it looks like your head unit stick out a little further than mines. I got the same deck. Can you close the radio door and did you use stock brackets?

how hard was it to mount the tweeters on the a-pillars? I'm getting a component set soon and was thinking of doing something like that... looks really clean

5star... it just barely closes, i have to force it a lil but it works... what did you do to get yours to sit back a bit further? and did you figure out how to get the vid to work while driving... i just grounded the e brake cord and that didnt work

torqueless - make sure whatever tweeters you are getting, if they are bigger than 25mm, DO NOT put them in the a-pillar, but it was really easy i just traced where i wanted them on each side... used a dremel with a drill bit on low setting and really carefully cut them out.. sanded them with the dremel til they were round and what you see is what you get there... super easy, my first install. and i think it turned out great
plus, be sure to add some quick disconnect stakons inside the cab so you can take them off if you need to, and dont have to worry about working around dangling a-pillars
