MY04 Factory Alarm LED Question
I believe the MY04 S2000 has the OEM alarm LED integrated into the dash - even if the factory alarm is not installed.
Does anyone know where the factory alarm connects to this and perhaps know what voltage is used to drive it (from the OEM alarm)?
Thanks
William

For what it's worth, I bought the OEM alarm and factory harness but decided not to install it. In tracing the security harness, I see a female two pin connector, with one pin used, with a black/yel wire. It connects to a male connector taped to the harness running right above the hood latch, taped with blue tape. This appears to be for the LED. The LED must have one leg grounded.

Turns out to be a pulsed ground signal from the alarm unit. The LED is supplied with 12V at the gauges.
I also learned that grounding pin 11 of the keyless module will unlock both doors and grounding pin 12 will lock them. These pins are only used when the OEM alarm is added.
This would prob. be an easy way to mod the car to add a central driver/pass door unlock that some are complaining about (the lack of.) You would just need a SPDT center off momentary switch. It would work with the ignition off though, so keep it away from the windows!

No prob. That area is a mess right now as I am trying to get an Autopage RS-850LCD installed with these weird door locks. Looks like I'll have to add relays.
I'll get you a pic Sat.

I wanted to unlock the drivers door first, just like the OEM. So I had to add a relay to disconnect the door motor from the keyless module and supply it with +12V to unlock the drivers door. (Same thing the OEM alarm does.) Then the Autopage alarm has a second (-) output for the pass side which connected to the unlock pin on the keyless module. DONE! It actually works!
Found a nice place for alarm wiring info.
So I'll clean up tomorrow and get the photo for you. Thanks.

where do you find the wires for the factory led? (pic?)
do you think i can buy the 'alarm led' on http://www.varad.com/products/products-index.html
cut the wires to that led and use it to power the factory led without having to buy an alarm but giving an illusion of an alarm with an oem cleaness?
