Default for MY04 & iPod PIE HON03PCSON from Logjam has interference? suggestions?

Hi All,

Some help requested... I read that the PIE HONo3/PC-SON 2003-2004 will work on the MY04 Head unit for playing iPod through CD AUX - well the thing is hooked up & I am getting an interference noise - anybody else have this? or have a suggestion(s) - did I order the wrong Interface from Logjam? they confirmed that this would work on the 04?

Help & Thanks in advance.

Nate

A suggestion:

Get yourself a ground loop isolator.
Problem Solved.

Just a thought:
Do you have the ipod plugged into the car for power? If you use the cig lighter kit, it should complete a circuit and you shouldn't be getting interference. i would like to know if this also works.

I use the Extreme Mac adaptor for power to the iPod - this did not complete the loop - I'll check the local Radio Shack for teh ground loop isolator....and report back as soon as I can get it & get it in...

thanks

I have the same problem, but it has nothing to do with the LOGJAM adapter. If I don't use the charger, I get crystal-clear sound...only when I plug in the charger do I get interference. 95% of the time I don't use the charger though, so it doesn't really bother me all that much.

The the interference is caused by the charger. That's interesting.

Went out and tried the iPod without the charger - yes the sound is much cleaner - do you think the ground loop isolater will eliminate the interference with the power adapter in use?

another note ... I'm still not completely thrilled with the sound of the iPod vs the CD / FM unit itself and wonder why it just doesn't seem to be as powerful? when i sude the cassette adaptor in my other car the iPod sound is loud & clear.

thanks

The wait for the Alpine solution (and their 2004 HUs, namely the 9835) is KILLING ME. The sound system (HU included) is the only complaint I have about this car.
