Default MY04 Radio Faceplate Removal

I've seen this link...
http://lucidauto.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv...ode=radioremove

However I have a question...I tried to take my faceplate off tonight and for the life of me I thought I was going to break something. The bottom came off fine, but I can't get the vent seperated. HELP?
Can anyone provide some tips or success stories on how to get this plate off.
I feel like an idiot..but don't want to break it also....thanks for the help.

I had the same problem. I used a pic which has s screwdrived type handle, and a L type bend at the end. I placed the L shaped end thru the heater ducts and pulled out. Not only will this not leave marks, but it also allows you to pull from the top sides.

Make sure you remove your center console first- it only takes a minute and makes it 100x easier to remove and install the radio cover. I've bent the lower tabs on my cover from not removing the center console.

I use a paint can opener slid inside the vent so you pull from the backside....no scratches that way....go to home depot and ask for a freebee at the paint counter. It is basically a small tool with a flat hook on the end.
