Default Nakamichi packed it in tonight

Just like the title says, my CD400 went down tonight and I need a new HU. I want to use my existing Modifry IR controls. What are my options? I am using Focus K2p components, Alpine Pdx 4.150 amp and Infinity 5.75cs speakers in Spods.

thanks.

Refresh my memory, but the IR DCI works with a bunch of HUs, so just have to set the dip switches correct, yes? Personally I eschewed the iDAX001 in favor of the Alpine 9885 - more eq control, just as easy to use with an iPod, and I can still play discs when I want to (which is occasionally).

If you want new, that would be my bet. How long did your CD400 last anyway? It just died?

I have had it for around 18 months. The CD player is no longer reading CDs, even new ones, sometimes it will...sometimes it wont. I love the way this thing sounds, but am not pleased at the quality.

So, I can use my existing DCI with an Alpine HU if I change the orientation of the switches on the control box?

I'm pretty sure the DCI itself is labeled with the dipswitch settings for
different headunit manufacturers. My (fairly old) IR DCI supports three:
Alpine, Nakamichi, and I believe JVC. Looks like the newer IR ones support
10 different manufacturers.

You should look at the DCI module to see what head units it supports. Depending on the version (also listed on the label) I may be able to re-program the DCI for other head units for a minimal charge ($20).

With older DCI's (2005 and earlier) they only supported 3 or 4 head units and I had to make 3 different DCI versions to cover the 10 most popular brands. In 2006 I upgraded the micro in the DCI and had room for all 10 brands.
