Yes.

Do you want a built-in system or a portable system?

Or, as mentioned the search will provide a lot of results - a lot faster too.

Thanks for the reply, I am looking for a built in system to replace the head unit where the screen comes out and pops up. I'm not into cutting a hole in the dash yet. Didn't find anything great on the search. I was hoping something new might have come out??

I don't generally post in Electronics - mostly because I don't know too much about it... That said, I was looking into doing something similar, but found that a "pop-out" lcd won't fit in the stock location. There's no room for it to swing out and up. Someone designed a custom enclosure to mount a screen where the stock unit lives, but it required removing the vents.

That location also isn't great for a nav system since it's pretty far out of your normal line of vision.

There are lcd's built into rear-view mirrors which might be a solution for you. Other than that though, you would have to cut the dash.

It's not THAT scary (it's still pretty scary, but not THAT scary) to cut the dash if you know that in Japan the navigation is a factory option and is installed in the dash above the radio.

Mikes2k has one. There is also one for sale (or was) in the for sale forum.

Beyond that I think you should look at a portable unit.

Well I know the search funtion is tough here, so here is my take on Navigation. For me cutting the screen was the only logical way of making this project happen. Like Rue said thats where Honda puts it OEM JDM style and for good reason. IMO it is the least unobtrusive spot that does not hinder sight-lines.

I know of another owner who had a rail made to pop out of the dash on an actuator straight up but IMO when the screen is up it blocks a nice portion of our small windshield.

Here is my original thread with some info on equipment used, etc.
