I'm going to install a Passport SRX system in MY04. I don't have the car here and can't really get dirty with it fir a few weeks but want to try and plan ahead.

Display/Controller: 4.2 x 1.4 x .55

I don't know how much room is under the shifter area. I was thinking about the small area between the front of the shifter boot and the lower hinge of the radio door??

If it's deep enough I could take out the front dimension of the display and have it 'just' rise about the surface.

Any ideas would be great

 

I bought an aftermarket mirror and had HiFi Buys install the display in the right side of the mirror. You could put the display in the right air vent above the radio. Also I saw an install right below the handle above the mirror.
