first of all i did search around but couldn't find problem like mine..

i just bought new Kenwood HU.. and i thought it had the 3.5mm port on the back for the steering control, but i was wrong..

instead of the 3.5mm port it has Wire Plug for the steering control..
and i already bought the PAC SWI-PS, which has the 3.5mm jack on it..

here is my question, i was thinking of cutting the 3.5mm jack to reveal the wire and connect directly to the HU's steering control wire..
is this crazy idea??
i need your help guys~~~

 

i connect everything but can't program it!!!
i follow the instruction on the PAC website, it works til i finish the version programming. when i try to programm the button, the LED light does not come on, or stay on...

what should i do guys???

 

Yikes...I'd say pick up Modifry's DCI instead? Sorry, I'm not knowledgeable with the PAC.

 

ummmmmmm... you program the version number first, then you program the buttons.

 

i have a swi-jack and it's driving me crazy. anyone install one of these and wire it to modifry's pigtail?

 

i can programm it til version number.
after programming the version number, i try to programm the function buttons but i can't seem to get it to work..
i don't know what to do??

 

double check your wire that you have hooked up to it, after you programed the version number did you turn the car off? did you hold down the button on the PAC after turning on the car for programing the controls?

 

yes. after programming the version number i turn off my car..
maybe thats why its not working??

when you turn your car back on , does it flash the number of the version you programed? or what does it do? Also make sure the red wire is hooked up to turn on and not constant.

 

ouch, i dont know anything about pac. shoulda went modifry hopefully someone can help ya
