Default Need help on a non-S2000 install

I am looking to equip my 2002 Yukon with a flip-out screen. I would like DVD Playback, Navi, Rear Camera, and iPod connectivity.

It's my understanding that the units with built in Navi require you to swap your CD for the Navi Disk every time you want to choose a new destination. The other advantage of of a separte navi unit is that I can add the navi later.

Any suggestions on specific units to look at?

the Eclipse AVN7000 has a HDD built in specifically for Navigation. No need for a Navigation disk.

Plus is a fantastic sounding unit. Circuit City has them if you want to check one out.

Kenwood has a nice unit as well. Its not as nice as the Eclipse... but its not as expensive either. The Kenwood is about $800 bucks cheaper.

With the optional navi add-in?

Can Kinetic get me a deal on this?

I agree Kenwood for the price, but hold on. If Im thinking of the same car, the flip out will hit your shifter when in drive wont it? Some in park also when opening and closing. Go double Din.

That is true, and an excellent point, but a double din would have to be custom fitted as the dash space is only a din and a half size. The Kenwood will work.

Unless of course you don't mind coughing up the cash to have it custom fitted

I believe you can modify the climate controls bit lower and use a 03 up dash which is double din and can be bought from the dealer for about 100 dollars. You just have to confirm color.

Yeah that is true. I have no idea about the cost of the new dash though.

Interesting point, I will have to check it out.

The opening is 1.5 din, so I may have the ability to adjust the exact mounting height of the 1 din HU.
