Well I'm re-installing my Alpine HU again with the exception of 3 RCA cables. Last time it fit w/o the rca cables but was a tight fit. Now that I have the RCAs the HU doesn't want to go all the way in. The HU is an older one. Alpine CDA 7987. It has a bunch of extra little boxes and what not that makes it hard to fit. If anyone can help me and has some pics that would be great! TIA!

 

I have the same problem. Tried redoing it many times but it's always about 1/4" to 1/2" out. I ended up just screwing in anyways. The volume knob hits everytime the lid open and close. I just learn to live with it. I take it that the extra little components in the back is even more a pita. You might want to try pulling the RCA's from the back of the driver side while inserting the deck. It helped a little. Just tuck the extra slack of the cables under the dash. Gl
