Default Need opinion on Modifry wired-DCI vs. PAC SWI-JACK

I'm thinking of installing a new JVC HU and my local Audio shop recommended me to use the PAC SWI-JACK as they don't deal with Modifry. My question is that how is the PAC SWI-JACK compared to the Modifry wired-DCI? Thanks.

I've had both, and the Modifry is a loooooooot better. Think of it as the difference between driving a Yugo and a Ferrari, with the DCI being the Ferrari. Seriously, the PAC was a GIANT nuisance.

... but if you still really want to try it I've got a used one I can sell you.

What made it a lot better? I understand the modifry to have different functions when using 2 dash control buttons at the same time. Is that the only difference?

The PAC had a horrible delay for EVERY function. I'd try to increase or decrease the volume and be forced to guess at what volume I'd end up at. Forget trying to skip ahead a couple tracks, too. Even by counting the times I'd push the button I'd still end up on a completely different track than what I intended. It got to the point where if I wanted to change anything I just opened the radio door and did it the old-fashioned way.

To be fair, though, there is ONE thing I dearly miss about the PAC interface. The shop that installed it added an external relay so that when you pressed "MUTE" on the dash it would pause the song. With the Modifry interface selecting "MUTE" simply decreases the volume. The modifry also doesn't clear this selection once the car is off whereas the PAC would. Now if I turn off my car without pressing the "MUTE" button again I have to manually increase the volume once I turn the car back on.

I'm sure there's some way to change these characteristics of the Modifry interface, but I just haven't looked into it. Anyone know?

There are tons of threads on DCI's ready up (no reason to reinvent the wheel). Modifry is always recommended for a number of a good reasons.
