The Tom Tom Go ( 699 ) and Go Plus ( 999 ) are highly rated, I have the Garmin c330 ( 799 ) which is also rated high and I love it, very easy to use, but the screen is hard to read in direct sunlight.

For $1000 you can get an in-dash DVD player with flip-up screen as well as Navigation DVD's. The JVC DVD player is now only $700 (retail...could be had for cheaper). If you want more, you could get the Alpine unit that features touch screen.

just a thought.

^ Flip up screens don't fit in the S2000 unless you but the dash.

really? That sucks. If you are looking for a standard GPS / navigation system, I would imagine that Garmin would make one. They make excellent GPS handhelds.

I really wanted a flip DVD Nav system but I heard they wont fit into the S2000 so I guess I am going to get a Garmin one. Any idea if they touch screen?

Check out the TomTom 700:

It's only a touchscreen and is Tivo-easy to use.

I realize that the flip-screen would not work because of the shift knob. The screen would hit it when it opened. Would the flip screen work if it was opened when the car was on, and the shifter in reverse, and them just left open until you park the car, put knob in reverse then close?
