Default Need rec for laser detector

My current radar detector, which I never use because where I'm at there's seldom radar, is an original CM Passport (wired model). However on my commute the CHP have started to use laser and I'd like at least a prayer of detecting it. I would not buy CM (if they're still around) since they got bought, so my question is, what is a quality and reasonably priced laser detector brand?

Thanks,

Robert

Get a Blinder M-25 laser jammer and you won't need a detector.

Yes, once you detect lazer its too late, they have already stuck it on your ass. A good, well hidden jammer is your best chance.... but even with so the pork have guns that know they are bein jammed. Last I checked if you only have 2 recievers, its only a 90 dollar ticket, but im not 100% sure of the penalty here.

The Valentine1 arrows are pretty addictive. Having said that, if you can pony up for a jammer, you'll be better off.

Laser jammers are illegal in California, and as stated, CHP have guns that know they're being jammed.

Do some reading at radardetector.net's forums.

As stated above, you don't need a detector. You need a jammer. At the moment you can't beat the Laser Interceptor though you may be able to get by with a less expensive option.

Speeding is as well. Again, OP needs to do his own homework, reading up at radardetector.net or other sources. Plenty of people in CA run with jammers but it's a decision that the OP needs to make.

If you decide to get jammers be sure to test the installation. Even the best jammers are useless with a poor install. Also, don't forget that countermeasures do not replace situational awareness.

I thought about buying a jammer, but the reviews I've read are all over the place regarding their effectiveness. I can't see spending that much on something that may not work. I have the new Escort Passport that I can program for speed trap locations and blocks out fake x band warnings. It will give me a few seconds heads-up on laser tags. I also use stealth veil on my headlights and license plate. This has saved me a few times and I'm pretty happy with it.

The plan with laser detection is to catch the guy ahead of me getting zapped. I'm not a huge speeder, it''s just that the limit is about 55 and people routinely go 65, and I'm not paying attention the S2000 can easily get up to 70-73.
