Need some amp troubleshooting help
I installed a blaupunkt pa275 thru high level inputs, using the convertor, that came with the amp, and it has the smallest bit of engine whine, but when I turn on the ac, the whine is dramatically louder, anyone now, what can help solve this?
I have the power come down passenger side, and the speaker wires, down the center console, along with the speaker wire inputs, which go to the high level convertor, also down the center console, and i have it grounded to the back bolt which holds down the seat. The power and speaker cables, meet at the area behind the passenger seat panel and go the amp underneath the seat.
BUt the airconditioner turning on leading to the whine, is what i really need help fixing,
thanks for any help

Noise is usually due to a bad ground in my own experince. Did you make sure and sand off the area where the ground contacts the metal? Also, the power and input leads should never come close to each other. If they do anywhere you need to try and seperate them. These are the main ways you get engine noise from what I have seen. Bad ground has always been the cuplrit for me though if/when I have ever had any problems.
in this case, i'm going to say bad ground.
the back seat bolt is a black painted bolt, so unless you've sanded, you're probably not getting good contact. i'd look for a better ground. if possible, run the ground back up the passenger side and tie into the factory ground located behind the kick panel.
what gauge ground and power are you using?

The Blaupunkt line level adapter is a cheap POS - Try a newer higher quality one.
Another thing to look at is where you tapped the speaker leads and where you have the adapter mounted.
The worst place for the adapter is behind the radio or under the dash.
It is better to run speaker wire level from the deck, along the console (away from any other wires) and then place the line level adapter close to the amp but away from any other signal sources (such as the main power wire coming from your battery).
