Default Need some experts with alarm installs

Can you believe this? I sure as hell can't...

I went down to 3 local audio shops (who do a bunch of custom installs) and i asked them if they could install my CLIFFORD MATRIX RSX3.5 with remote start and the guys at all three shops said:

"your alarm is far too advanced for our knowledge and we would not feel confortable working on a car with such a high price tag".

I mean geez.. i know its an s2000 but it's not a Ferrari....

Do you guys know how much a shop would charge to install this alarm for me, and where on the North-East coast (i live in montreal, Canada but would not mind driving down to the States to get this installed) i could get this installed?

In addition, i have an alpine tme-m770 that i would like to install into my dash. I'm not good enough with the fiberglass stuff to do it myself (since i will have to look at it everyday so mistakes cannot be made). If there is anyone in the North-East or some place not too far (600 Miles max) from Montreal (or Plattsburgh, NY), please let me know how much you would charge me for this type of installation.

Do you guys think i can install this alarm myself? I've done alarm installs on my civic before but this one is a little more high-tech than the last one i owned... anyone did it himself? If so.. do you have any pointers?

Please send me a message if you can help me out with these installs,

P.S Thank you for helping me with my low bass problem... i managed to fix it.. it was leaking a bit at the top,

David

I don't recommend installing that alarm yourself. Most shops , even custom ones don't want to deal first off with the liablility of remote starts on stick shift cars. I.E. you start it , it's in first , it runs into a wall , they can get sued. 2nd off clifford is made by DEI , who makes viper , clifford , python and pretty much every big time alarm company out there. There very good , very reliable and very easy to install. I think either A) the shop was pulling your chain , B) they didn't want to deal with a product that wasn't theres , or C) they figure it as to be a liablility. I'd go to a shop again and ask which alarm would be good for my S2k and see how much it costs to install , take that info somewhere else and bargin on the price.
