Where are you gong to mount the amp? At that size, it looks like you could get a little more creative than most of the more space consuming install jobs I have seen on this forum. The space consumption issue is one of my biggest reasons for resisting the move to an external amp.
I am going to get a flat cover for the rear, going to mount the amp there, and then build a surround around the amp so it will be a flush mount. Dont know how I am going to do that yet, but I will work on it. I was going to mount it in the spare tire area, but I want to display the LED read out.
Lubed, PM me and I can tell you how much I paid, I got a an awesome deal on them, or so I think.
Phil I was amazed at the size of it. I was initially going to go with a spare tire amp rack and have a stealth set up, but the amp is just too nice to hide, so I ordered one of Jim's Flat Amp Racks for the rear, and going to throw that bad boy right smack in the middle. Its got digital gain adjustments, I wonder how that will work out. CDT's are pretty nice too, build quality is not as nice as the Utopias, and the magnet does not compare to the utopia's, but the cone material and surround just looks nice and sturdier than the Utopia's. Lets see what happens when they go in though.
i'm not a huge fan of the 'bounce off windshield' sound, but i did it in the Ody w/ the Bostons and it turned out pretty good. i still prefer the more localized sound in my S though.
