Update

iPod - The battery was just way way down. All is good now. I love me some iPod.

CDA-9855 connector - Wasn't pushed all the way down (as I thought)

Subwoofer Box - Made and it's beautiful. Thanks to the FAQ my life was that much easier (I didn't have to create dimensions although I did have to modify it to fit the Infinity Kappa Perfect 12DVQ. I used the one with the most sides to get the most volume)

Newly Discovered Problem - The 4 channel Infinity amp is clipping when I have the volume half way up or more on the Alpine HU. Don't know what to do to fix this. They are connected through a digital display fuse holder next to the battery to a cap then to a fused distribution block. After the amp they go back to a grounding distribution block then to the cap and finally to ground. (the cap has a distrobution block for both + and -)

I haven't connected both the sub and amp while the components and their amp are connected.

My work is almost complete. Just have to fit the HU in place and figure out what to do with the SWI, possibley move the iPod interface somewheres discrete and make the setup in the back cosmetically acceptable to my likes.

Ummm....instead of lighting yourself on fire making the MDF rings, I think Circuit City (or Circuit Sh!tty) sells plastic ones for like under $25. I guess hind sight is always 20/20.

I just think we are trying to make this the hardest thing we've ever done in our lives so that the rewards will be that much sweeter. We're masochists... what can I say?

1. I don't see much of a point of a grounding distribution block. I think you are supposed to keep the total length under 18".

2. Are you saying the clipping happens without the sub?

3. Maybe try taking the Cap out of the equation and see if you still have the clipping problems.

Have you tuned the gain on the amp yet? First turn all gains down all the way. Then put volume up as loud as you would ever put it on the HU, then adjust signal input up until it STARTS to clip, then dial it back a bit. That should be the new "ceiling" for the amp. If you simply plugged it in and cranked up the gains, yeah, it would clip like that.

Second, you should have bought the DCi and not the Alpine adapter.
What's the difference in the two as far as performance, installation and usability? If I get one I would like to have it wired instead of IR. The one I have is made by Peripheral and is a wired unit. It's the same as the one made by PAC Electronics.

Because the DCi works, works well, easy to install, and was MADE for the s2000. We all have it, and for good reason. I dont think anyone has what you have. Also, unless a WIRED solution is made by alpine FOR an s2000, I think you should stick to DCi. Just my .02 tho

PAC products in the past have sucked for me...the DCi has worked flawlessly since I installed it, and Ive installed like 10 of em.

Do they have to be programmed or are they already programmed?
