You can order a direct wire smartcord from Escort. This gives you a mute button you can mount yourself so you don't have to push the button on the unit.

Mine is mounted exactly like ruexp67 up above.

if the radar is mounted all the way up the windshield, I take it you don't use the visor? is that why you mount it on the passenger side? I would think it would be a closer reach if mounted on the drivers side windshield.

I don't use the visors (They are pretty useless anyway.)

I mount it on the passenger side so if it flies off in event of an unxepected/unplaned stop it hits the passenger in the head, not me.
