Default new powered sub from Alpine

I thought this was pretty cool... sorry if it's a repost (tried search)

I am interested to see how this box design works. It's six 5" woofers in one box, supposed to sound like two 10" speakers. And it has a built in 250w amp running at 2 ohms.

Length and width, if you lay it on it's side, are 21 5/8 x 13 3/8, so it would fit in the toolwell area without removing the toolkit. It would stick up a bit on one end but only a couple inches. Easy to remove (obviously).

That is a little steep and I can only find it at Crutchfield, too.

Looks like a slot port on the top, laying it in the tool well may interfere with the port.

That is the first product I've seen make it on the market with the new Tymphany LAT driver. The Tymphany driver uses a linear array of opposing disks instead of the traditional cone. The supposed benefit is to offer low frequency performance in a much more compact package the the standard cone woofer setup.

I've been trying to get my hands on a sample or two, but they are all spoken for by the OEM's at the moment. Tymphany is a new driver line is made by the Scandanavian group that also makes Scan-Speak, Vifa, and Peerless.

Here is a link to spec sheets and white paper on the technology:
