Default New sound set up

Hi, want to build some good sound in my S2K.
I already asked in another thread about an AMP, but this thread is about whole set up and probably will help me to make it right. Since it my first big work on my car, all comments and advices are welcomed.

Here is the set up I want to build:

Soundproffing:
Dynomat Extreme Bulk Pack - as a base for door and floor
Dynoliner 1/8 inch on doors above Dynomat
Dynoliner 1/2 inch on floor above Dynomat
DynoXorb under door speakers
(Probably I'll also do this with hardtop, but it is not delivered yet )

Head Unit: JVC SH1000 (awesome sound quality and has very good features such as SD and USB slots)

Speakers: Focal K2P 165 (no comments )

Amp: I'm not sure yet but probably I'll go with JVC

Sub: Earthquake SWS 8 inch (I'm thinking to put it under seat)

Modifry DCI (not sure with wired or IR, contacted modifry guys to be sure).

Wiring:
Speaker/Power/Interconnects: everything from Stinger Expert line.
Fuse/Fuse Holder: also Stinger and waterproof holder
Battery Clamps: Stinger with display.

So, may be I missed something, may be you have any suggestion or advices in materials I have chosen, any advice is welcomed.
I think for S2000 the front (midbass + tweeters) and sub is more than enough, may be I'm wrong we will see

Thanks in advance

Honestly, I wouldn't waste the money and weight on more dynamat than maybe a door kit. Of course, the only reason I even used the door kit on mine was to gain that extra little bit of clearance for the windows.

I'd suggest that if you really want bass, you invest in a trunk box (side or well) and either a 10 or a 12. An 8 isn't going to hit very deep frequencies so you'll be missing too much of the real reason for having a sub (and then it's just extra weight). MB Quart has a new(er) line that has a slimmer mounting depth (they mount the coil structure on top of the cone rather than behind it) that might fit under the seat.

There are brands that are just as good as Stinger that don't cost as much

The funny thing is that I had a conversation with a friend of mine from Russuia who works in car audio services, and he sent me the Moscow price list just to compare what we have in US on a market and in russia. The thing is that the same Stinger stuff is twice cheaper in Moscow ))))

Also, he said that now russians produces their own wiring stuff (Tchernov Audio) and according to him it is even cheaper and better than stinger

daktruckie - I found this one: www.hifisoundconnection.com
They have a lot of stinger stuff as well as Dynomat... and it seems to be good prices also.

^^ Good prices on that site. Close to what Darvex gives me for being a repeat customer.

did some research after you mentioned fatmat.
I think everybody will find this article very useful:

this is a comparison of 10 products... Dynomat is not so bad, but may be it time to think about Damplifier Pro

My comment has more to do with the actual weight added from the sound proofing. Lets face it, that stuff's heavy. And we have a convertible, there's only so much it's going to do (and the reality is that there's not going to be much of a difference because road noise will always get in through the soft top and even through the hard top b/c it's a roadster, not a luxury sedan...)

Agreed, this car is awful for acoustics. To find out, start with your top and windows down, then windows up, then top up. Notice how much volume comes back into the picture when you raise that stuff.

Then go get in a coupe / sedan with a similar setup and love it .

The stereo in my beater is about 100 times better than the S. I only added speakers and an amp so I can hear something above the VTEC roar
