Default New system being installed

First off - thanks for all the info on this board...and no I haven't registered by car yet. It is a Silverston '04 with 17" Volk CE28's from Evolution shod with GoodYear F1. I have Muz mats and Rick's magnum pearl shift knob. My lowering springs should be here from Evolution this week.

Now for the 'elecronics'!

After seeing what y'all were doing I decided on the following setup:

HU: Alpine 9827
Components: Focal 165V2
Amp: Eclipse 75x4 mounted in the trunk
Sub: JL Audio 6" in a custom box under the dash in the passenger footwell
MP3: Ipod 15GB located in the center console with RCA to minijack setup running into the change holder
Dash control setup by IR

All this is being installed today - tomorrow at a local shop in Austin. What do you guys think? Prices on the hardware were not bad, but the install...ouch! I wish I had the time and desire to do it myself.

Next up: 8500 X50

Thanks,

JT

Pictures please! This looks like a very interesting install. Can't wait to hear feedback about your sub in the footwell.

I'll post them this week to avoid the bloody stumps and worse yet the increased gas prices! Last I heard from the installer the amp we chose will not fit the space we wanted to use. Options: go with another amp with smaller footprint or change the location. I am going with a diff amp.... still on schedule to be done today.

I'm interested in how the JL 6" subs sound inside the cabin. I've seen these in a CRX and they pounded hard. Putting them in the cabin would be sweet, but I wonder how they'll fit and sound.

I would have much rather done something like that to free up all space in the trunk, but I'm wondering if you'll get enough bass with the 6" subs.

Definitely post pics and give us your feedback!

What other amps are you considering?

Some recommendations:

JL Audio
Phoenix Gold
Audison
MMATS
Alphasonik
PPI
Zapco

You'd be impressed with their abilities. They're even more impressive on the interstate than they are sitting in the garage because you don't lose it to wind noise and other vibrations when it's in the cabin. I LOVE my 6W0 in the cabin!
