Under the dash in the passenger foot-well area: LINK TO THREAD

 

I picked up the car last night. I went with the JL Audio amp 75x4 (remember the Eclipse did not fit the space I wanted to use). It fit nicely just to the left of the well in the trunk. I was able to get them to reduce the price by $100 on this amp, so I went with it over the alternative (Alpine 45x4). They did a fantastic job with the install. They had done another S2000 with the 6" JL sub in the passenger footwell and had pictures to show what it would look like. I also brought pictures of Gamecock's install to show them (thanks). It came out looking identical to that.

The Ipod in the center console is great! The wire was neatly run into the compartment. I have a rubber skin on my Ipod so it fits like it was made for that compartment. With the door open I can see the track, etc...and changing tracks is very easy. This is an excellent setup in my opinion (I got the idea from another thread).

The sound is very good. The bass with the top up pounds (they bridged 2 channels and have the JL delivering about 80% of the available bridged power). With the top down I would characterize it as good - probably how it was meant to be with my chosen music.

The JL has a lot of tunability, so I need to spend a little time with it to get the bass where I want it with so much power already going to the components.

The Alpine 9827 looks great, easy to operate, has bass control on it, simple source button to switch between cd/tuner/Ipod.

I know some pics are worth a 1000 words. I will get them on this post this weekend. Overall I am very happy with the setup.
