I just bought used 2001 S2000 like 3 days ago, and I just noticed on the glass, there is this "immobilizer anti theft" words.
It means my car can't be stolen with any kind of methods except towing.
Is that right? Correct me if I'm wrong.
So does it mean that I don't have to get an aftermarket alarm since it has this immobilizer?
Does it guarantee 100% that the car can't be stolen with any kind of methods?

thank you

The "immobilizer" system on cars involves a coded key and a key reader that is integrated in the car's ECU. If the code reader tells the ECU that the wrong key is being used, it will not allow the fuel pump or ignition to function.
An aftermarket alarm system will "alarm" is the car is being tampered with. The immobilizer system will not sound any alarm. Some owners also like the security of having a shock sensor and a motion sensor to monitor the car.
"Guarantee 100%"? You're kidding, right? For every car, there is a thief who has figured out how to steal it.

The RSX has an immobilizer as well. There is a way to bypass the immobilizer using a brake pedal sequence.

I also suggest you cover your VIN. Not every dealership bothers to make sure you own your car.

It is a theft deterrent, not guarantee.

I guess not.
