Default Alternatives to our keys

Anyone really disappointed when you were handed your new keys with the alarm being the same as a civic's? I got the 2006 model and I figured they would have used the key with the lock/unlock & panic buttons installed in like those of the new accord.

My question would be, is there any way to customize it? Maybe you order a new set and they'll use the new accord keys and program your alarm code into it? Or maybe there's an awesome aftermarket version we could get? I do like the part of the key that says S2000, so I'd like that to stay on the key.

Nope, your only option is the stock OEM keys for the S2000

Is it even an alarm or just a remote fob to open the doors? Perhaps you should get an aftermarket alarm with a fob you like. With a seperate fob, you don't need to take the car keys with you - leave them hidden in the car and you only need to carry the fob.

Actually, the 06 Civics have remote entry + key together.. The S still has a seperate key + remote.

No other keys/remotes from Honda works with the S.. I tried.

Just get a CompuStar, Clifford/DEI alarm. Stock alarms suck, anyway.

To make it easier to steal, I guess.

Or harder to steal, depending. I don't think anyone would be dumb enough to leave their keys out in plain site, but if you have a fob that doesn't say S2000 on it, it can be a measure of protection just to carry it around. Mainly, why carry more than you have to.
